The heart of worship is not about performance; it's about sincerity and surrender. In this sermon series, I aim to explore what true worship means and how we can connect with God authentically. Many of us mistakenly believe that worship is merely about singing or following rituals, but the Bible teaches us that worship is a relationship with God. As I reflect on my journey as a worship leader, I realize that I lost sight of what worship truly is. I became focused on the performance aspect, the lights, and the environment, rather than the heart behind it. Worship is about presenting ourselves as living sacrifices, as stated in Romans 12:1. It’s about surrendering our lives completely to God, which can be a daunting task. Surrendering is often seen as a sign of weakness in our culture, but in reality, it is the ultimate act of strength and trust in God. I share my personal experiences of fear and surrender, especially during challenging times in my life, such as the loss of a child and the fear of losing my second son. These moments taught me that true worship comes from a place of love and trust, not fear. God desires our whole hearts, not just a portion of our lives. He wants us to surrender everything to Him, including our fears, plans, and desires. As we embark on this journey together, I invite you to reflect on what areas of your life you may be holding back from God. Can you trust Him enough to surrender? Remember, worship is not about how well we perform; it’s about how open our hearts are to God. Let’s explore the heart of worship together and discover the freedom that comes from surrendering to Him.
